FAQs

  • Direct Primary Care (DPC) is an emerging healthcare business model. This healthcare model requires that patients obtain a practice membership. By paying a monthly fee, patients have 24/7 access to their medical team as well as unlimited visits. Most DPC providers only have a few hundred patients, which allows for longer appointment times and more personalized care. Other benefits can include:

    • Continuity of care

    • Limited need for waiting rooms

    • Same day appointments

    • Discounted cash prices for labs and radiology

    • Stronger patient/provider relationships

    • Lower incidence of Emergency Room and Urgent Care visits

  • Most medical practices are considered “Fee For Service” (FFS) businesses. This means that the provider is paid based on patient volume. Generally speaking, more patients seen = more money made. While this healthcare business model works for some, it is the reason why most office visits are scheduled at 15-20 minute intervals and why you may wait 45 minutes to see your provider. These providers typically have thousands of patients. Direct Primary Care does not reward providers based on patient volume. Instead, it encourages providers to spend more time with their patients and give them the quality care they deserve without the hassle of insurance companies.

  • Yes and no. All well and sick visits are covered by the monthly membership fee. If a patient needs vaccines, labs or radiology, these services CAN be billed through insurance. Because Elite Care patients are not required to carry health insurance, we offer our patients low cash prices for labs and radiology. We are able to do this by partnering with local businesses. Some FSA/HSA plans may also be used to pay for services.

  • No, there is no annual contract required. But membership agreements are written in 12 month increments and require 30 days notice to discontinue services. We do offer discounts to those who pay for the full year upfront.

  • Yes. Elite Care Pediatrics serves patients from birth through 21 years.

  • Yes, unlimited virtual visits are included with membership.

  • Elite Care Pediatrics has a maximum patient volume of 300. By limiting volume, we are able to provide exceptional, personalized care. Because pediatric patients will eventually age out, spaces do open up. For waitlist information, please contact us. EliteCarePeds@Gmail.com

  • While Dr. Pierson does recommend that patients follow CDC and AAP immunization guidelines, she will never turn a patient away for being unvaccinated. Our office will provide evidence-based literature each visit, but every parent has the right to choose how their child is cared for.
